Reduced to Ashes
04:51
|
|||
I look upon the shore
Lit by the setting sun,
Blazed up like scarlet flames,
Waves crimson red with blood.
Oh, ruthless eastward winds,
How distant fumes of war
You bring to paint the sky
From clear blue to black
And scorched by flames.
And yet myself I stand
On cinders, dust and ash,
Where city, proud and tall,
Once held its banners high.
Of what became of it
These embers tell a tale,
For none is left who could
In utterance embrace
Its final fate.
Ashes beneath the sky,
Rising with gusts of wind,
Lurching towards the clouds
Like souls of those who fell.

Dread
04:19
|
|||
Fours suns, four moons
Pass above the waves,
And the foe arrives
At the shores of Chikuzen.
The fortress-ships
In arrogance and spite
Moor within our sight,
Find harbour in our lands.
In the pale of the stars,
In the flicker of a torch
A horrid view
For hearts to dread.
On the wood of the prows
A necklace of flesh,
In the calm of the night
Wails of sorrow and grief.

Path of Decay
05:15
|
|||
Ways of the flesh are impure,
And thus I discard my carnal shell.
To understand the ultimate purpose of life
I set upon the path of decay.
Death and disease
Are the universal truth,
That, which is beyond escape,
That, which is beyond cure.
And yet the one on the path of decay,
Shall ward off these afflictions of men,
For the dying care not for disease,
And the dead are beyond the grasp of death.
I have achieved nothing,
I have understood nothing,
I have gained no knowledge
And attained no enlightenment.

四百余州を挙る
十万余騎の敵
国難ここに見る
弘安四年夏の頃
なんぞ怖れんわれに

正義武断の名
一喝して世に示す
Rise! The foe is unto us!
Put the times of grief behind!
Have no fear and strike with might -
Today we paint the waves with blood!
Deny the sunlight to the host -
Let your arrows cloud the sky,
Drown their screams in your warcries,
Enma is awaiting all of us.
多々良浜辺の戎夷
そは何 蒙古勢
傲慢無礼もの
倶に天を戴かず
いでや進みて忠義に 鍛えし
我が腕ここぞ国のため
日本刀を試しみん
Strife, confusion and discord,
Screams of agony and rage.
Lunges blade, it's target found,
And the one beside you falls.
Now, when trial has arrived,
We must stand aligned as one.
Death - the only way we go,
Triumph - the only aim we're reaching for.

Before the Moon Rose
04:38
|
|||
In dreams of victory thou sleep,
Thy minds in blissful ignorance
Of eyes that watch you from the dark,
Of those who come to take your life.
Before the Moon has risen,
We set forth to harrow your souls.
Our purpose terrible,
Bathed in glory and blood.
Three hundred boats on roaming waves,
Their oars concealed in rising wind,
Amidst the billows hide and shift,
Their blades and arrows well prepared.
Set ablaze the ships!
Make your arrows count!
Guided by the gods,
Tonight the triumph is ours!

Stone Walls of Hakata
03:53
|
|||
Winds howl, waves split,
Stone to test rivals' grit.
Foes' quest shall end,
Blood shall run through the sand.
Steel gates, stone seals
Crushing hulls, breaking keels.
Sword, spear, oar, sail -
None endure, none prevail.
Red sun, white sky,
Time has come - war is nigh.
Walls rise, tide shifts,
Far away shades of ships.
White sky, red sun.
Turn your ships, hide and run!
Come here unasked -
Stone shall break you to the last.
Ships' shades draw near,
Raise your flag, hold your spear!
War bows strung tight -
Shields to pierce, foes to smite.
Spare them no more,
Hachiman, god of war!
Crush and accoy,
Send your winds to destroy.
For those who fell -
Blood of foes grief shall quell.
Mourner's bell rings -
Death in war glory brings.
Blades gleam, flags soar,
Death awaits on this shore.
Hosts pay blood toll -
Come uncalled and you shall fall.

Land of the Rising Sun
04:50
|
|||
The sun ascends and casts its rays
Upon the land, illuminating the world.
Illustrious, splendourous visage,
An aspect grand and brilliant.
Towards the sea she casts her sight,
And waves blaze up in scarlet flames.
Within these burning, scorching waves
Our foes are resting in their graves.
In hordes they came on conquest bent,
With drums of war that shook the skies,
And yet their beating has been ceased
And humbled by the will of gods.
The sun ascends and casts its rays,
And those upon whom her gaze falls,
Fall to their knees in reverence,
Or in defeat away they crawl.

Divine Winds
05:06
|
|||
Black waves upon our shores,
And threat looms in the dark -
A great host out in the sea
With embers and death in its wake.
Ours the stone of the walls,
Ours the gleaming steel of blades.
Dark is this night, and not a breeze
Touches wisteria leaves.
When a battle rages, and blood clouds the sight,
Hachiman! Watch over us!
Those with red banners shall find their own graves
In the Land of the Rising Sun.
Blinded by the smoke of Tsushima and Iki,
We stand or we fall!
Clouds turn grey, and birds cease their songs -
Silence before the storm.
Billows rising so high,
Eerie calm envelops the land.
Raijin, sounding his heavenly drums,
Rides to scatter and smite.
No light shines through the clouds,
The Sun has averted her face from the host.
Winds unleashed, thunder unchained -
The Great Storm has arrived!

Genko no Uta
06:53
|
|||
From four hundred states assemble
Riders in thousands,
And peril looms over our land
In the summer of the fourth year of the Koan Era.
Fearless
Men of Kamakura
A true martial spirit
Reveal to the world with a thunderous roar.
The barbarians of the West -
Who are they? A Mongol host,
Arrogant and insolent.
No sky shall be shared with them!
In loyalty we extend our arms
And for the nation
Test our swords.
To the waters of Tsukushi,
Through waves we advance
Those brave warriors,
Who do not return,
Fall and become the guardians of the land.
The Gods of Hakozaki,
Where your vows were heard,
Know well the spirit of Yamato.
Heavens grew angry, and the ocean's
Billows were in tempest tossed.
They who came to work us evil,
Thousands of the Mongol host,
Sank and perished in the sea deapths,
Of that horde survived but three.
Swift the sky was clear, and moonbeams
Shone upon the Ghenkai Sea.
